Gert Vorsteher Educational Bursary

The Gert Vorsteher Educational Bursary for students with disabilities was created by British Columbia Rehabilitation Foundation (“BC Rehab”) in 2014 to award two educational grants of $5,000 each to British Columbians with a physical disability who intend to pursue post-secondary education that will lead to employment and greater personal independence.

This completed application and all required supporting documentation must be received by BC Rehab on or before August 1st, 2025 to be eligible for consideration. Learn more about the bursary.

Terms and Conditions

If there is any material change in circumstances before the bursary is awarded, BC Rehab will have the discretion to reallocate awards. If you are a successful applicant, BC Rehab will be entitled to identify you as such and to use your name and photograph on its website or in any related media material, and may request that you provide an update on your educational progress within one year of the granting of the award.

BC Rehab will collect, use and disclose the personal information contained in this application for the purpose of reviewing, processing and awarding bursaries to eligible applicants in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act (RSBC 2003, ch. 63) and may disclose some or all of the contents of this application to any organization or employer listed as a source of income or the source to which any of the expenses on this application are attributed, for example landlord, dentist, day care etc. Any information disclosed in this application is subject to audit and you may be asked to provide confirmation of any expenses or income listed in the application.
